AGE TOGA-PARTY
The ruins of a former Roman castrum, i.e. watch-towers located
in Visegrád on the Sibrik hill gave the inspiration for the birth
of a program offer worthy of the spirit of the place.
The toga-party
arranged in the tepidarium of the hotel and recalling the luxurious
feasts of the Roman Empire - the Lucullian Feasts - takes the
participants to a time travel. Authentic clothes, food, site and
music.

The participants
dressed in white togas may enjoy the cuisine of the Roman Empire
in a realistic and authentic milieu.

FEAST OF THE RENAISSANCE
The period setting is the atmospheric Knights' Hall of the hotel,
whose walls are adorned by weapons and shields from the Middle
Ages, with banners bearing coats of arms hanging from the ceiling
and heavy, thick candles for light. The plentiful feast is presented
in accordance with medieval customs.
Upon arrival, the guests to the royal court are offered fruit
brandy by the master of ceremonies and his assistants. The royal
couple then make their entrance. The entertainment invokes the
nuances of knigthly lives during the Renaissance, the pleasant
lute music obliterates the constant hurry of the present age and
brings a wonderful period of Hungarian history to life.
After King Matthias and Queen Beatrix are greeted, the feast begins.
György Veress,
the king's chef, serves hunters' soup with tarragon from a cauldron,
which is spooned out by the guests at the party using fresh small
loaves, as was the custom in the Middle Ages.
Whole roasted poultry, ducks, pheasants and pullets are served
on large Renaissance platters, and we offer the finest game from
the Pilis forests, served with light, steamed vegetables and jacket
potatoes.
The guests tuck in with their bare hands during the royal feast.
(We only offer cutlery later on, if it is really necessary.)
Oven baked fruit pies are served as dessert.
Fine wine is served up in crocks to go with the meal, which the
guests drink from goblets.
If ordered specifically, the king's master of ceremonies can also
provide royal entertainment programs for the guests.
